To ensure safety, all pets must be current on vaccinations before drop-off. If you’re unsure about your pet’s vaccine status, our front desk team can review your records and confirm before your visit.
Rabies Vaccination Policy
At Alameda Veterinary Clinic, the health and safety of our patients, clients, staff, and community are our highest priorities. In accordance with state and local law, all dogs and cats are required to maintain a current rabies vaccination unless a licensed veterinarian has provided a documented medical exemption.
The rabies vaccination is medically beneficial and essential for protecting both pets and public health. Rabies is a fatal disease that poses serious risks to animals and humans, and vaccination remains the most effective form of prevention.
Clients who decline or refuse rabies vaccination for their pet without an approved doctor-issued medical exemption may be subject to limitations or refusal of future veterinary services at our discretion. This policy is intended to maintain a safe environment for all patients and staff and to ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements.
Medical exemptions will only be considered when deemed medically necessary by a veterinarian and must be documented in the patient’s medical record.
By continuing care with Alameda Veterinary Clinic, clients acknowledge and agree to comply with this policy.
